Laern more about ECEAP

The Early Childhood Education and Assistance Program (ECEAP), pronounced "E-Cap," is a state-funded initiative in Washington designed for children who are 3 or 4 years old by August 31st. Both ECEAP and Head Start provide:

  • Free early childhood education and care to support a child’s development and learning.
  • Family support and opportunities for parent involvement.
  • Coordination of child health services and nutrition.
  • Culturally appropriate services that reflect each child's and family’s heritage and experiences.

Children enrolled in ECEAP and Head Start develop important skills such as managing emotions, socializing with peers, and following classroom routines. They also start building foundational skills in reading, math, and science. These programs work closely with parents to support the child’s health and education, helping to meet both educational and family goals. They also assist families in accessing medical and dental care, as well as social services.

"We are proudly partnered with PSESD."

This application needs to be completed for income eligible families with children who have turned 3 or 4 years old prior to August 31, 2024, interested in Free Preschool.  Our hours for our ECEAP program are 8:45-12:15, Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays & Fridays.  This program follows the same schedule as the Yelm School
